Survey the vessel.
Not the tablet.
Walk the vessel and talk — stop and start whenever you like, snap photos as you go. Marine Survey Writer reads your whole recording, works out the findings from what you said, keeps every photo paired to its finding, and assembles a structured draft report with a graded defect schedule, ready to review and export to Word.
Creating an account takes a minute and signs you in straight away.
Just talk
Tap record and describe what you see. Stop and start as often as you like — pausing to think never splits a finding.
Add photos
Photograph a defect while you describe it, or straight after — either way the photo pairs itself with that finding. No sorting through a camera roll afterwards.
Generate the draft
One tap assembles your findings into report sections with a graded defect schedule. Only what you said goes in — nothing is invented.
Review and export
Check every paragraph against its source recording, edit inline, then export to Word for final polish on your own letterhead.
The structure is handled. The judgement stays yours.
- You are the author — the report contains only what you dictated, never invented content.
- Every generated paragraph is reviewable against its source recording before export.
- Your template boilerplate, conditions and T&Cs are reproduced verbatim, untouched.
- Client data is never used to train AI models and is deletable on demand.
- Data is stored encrypted in the EU (UK GDPR compliant).
- The exported document carries your letterhead — Marine Survey Writer appears nowhere on it.

Survey
Stop and start as often as you like — pausing to think does not split a finding. The report reads your whole recording and works out the findings from what you said.
Written notes
Photograph the pages you wrote on board and they are read into findings, the same as a recording. You check every reading before anything is drafted — numbers and units one by one, because a misread measurement is not something a report can carry.
Vessel research
Background notes on this make and model: spec, known issues, points worth checking. Research only, so verify everything on board. Nothing here is ever put into your report.
Coverage check
Before you leave the boat: which report sections have nothing recorded against them yet? A statement that something was not inspected counts as covered — only true gaps are flagged.
Recordings
No recordings yet. Tap the button above and describe what you see; tap again to stop. You can record as many times as you need.

Your survey form
Upload the blank pro-forma you print and carry aboard (Word, PDF, plain text, or a photograph of it). It is read once for your sections and the items listed under them, and your reports are then built to that structure. It also lets us do two things a finished report cannot: read a filled-in page of your form against its own printed items, and check before you leave the boat that nothing on your form was left blank by accident.
A blank form has no client or vessel details on it, so nothing confidential is involved.
Example reports (writing style)
Upload up to three of your past survey reports (Word, PDF or plain text). Each is analysed once into a style profile — your register, phrasing and finding conventions — and every report drafted for you is then written to match, using your own section structure taken from the first example you upload. The uploaded file itself is not kept, and no boat or client details are carried into the profile.
Delete account
Permanently deletes your account and everything in it — surveys, recordings, photos, drafts, templates and your practice details. This cannot be undone.
